Chef wanted!

Mooshka Vegan Soul Food is a restaurant in Amsterdam South, the Pijp. We first opened in

2016, and moved to the current location in 2019. Our menu is vegan, and a mix of different kitchens that are popular in Amsterdam.

After having adjusted our menu here and there over the past years we are now looking for a big change. We want to change our course by having a brand new menu and chef! We are looking for a new chef that has a few years experience in the professional kitchen and is looking for a new adventure. You will be in charge of: designing your own menu, the kitchen and your team.

Your menu

  • Lead, mentor, and manage team.
  • Develop and plan menus and daily specials.
  • Create prep lists for kitchen crew.
  • Manage food costing and inventory.
  • Maintain standards for food storage, rotation, quality, and appearance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable health codes and regulations.
  • Establish maintenance and cleaning schedules for equipment, storage, and work areas.
  • Participate in interview process and selection of kitchen staff.
  • Schedule staff and assist in human resources processes as needed.

We are looking for a chef that can start as soon as possible. We offer a fulltime contract for

€3085 a month, and a flexible schedule.

Your ingrediënts

  • Knowledge of Caribbean and/or African cuisine
  • Knowledge of exotic vegetables/fruits
  • Knowledge of plantbased cooking or willingness to learn
  • Understanding of menu and recipe development techniques
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Ongoing awareness of culinary trends
  • Understanding of health and sanitation laws
  • Applied wine and beverage knowledge
  • Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
