Hygiene Operative

Due to our location and the working hours of the role, an own mean of transport is preferred as public transport can not be relied upon.

As a Hygiene Operative for GCL Food Ingredients based in Newthorpe, you’ll be joining an industry leader and performing various duties within our ever-growing production facility.

Full Time, Permanent, Site Based
Working Hours: Monday - Friday
Hours: 16:30 – 01:00 – Some flexibility required
Salary: £11.80 per hour
Main Duties will Involve:
- To ensure all production and ancillary records (e.g. cleaning records) are completed accurately and contemporaneously. Ensuring such records are provided to the Technical Team for review and archiving in a timely manner.
- To ensure that all production areas are maintained in a clean and tidy fashion and in line with Good Manufacturing Practice.
- To ensure that Clean As You Go requirements are adhered to at all times.
- To ensure that hygiene schedules are followed at all times.
- To report any damaged or non-functioning equipment as necessary.
- To carry out processing requirements as requested by the Factory Supervisor.
- To ensure that all cleaning procedures are followed at all times.
- To ensure that all cleaning records are checked and signed appropriately.
- The ability to strip, clean and re-assemble equipment as required.
- To ensure that hygiene chemicals are always available in the hygiene station.
- To ensure that hand wash stations are kept stocked with soap, alcohol hand sanitizer and hand towels.
- To ensure that the High Risk Area is fogged on a weekly basis.
- To ensure that all work is undertaken in a safe manner and that the Company Health & Safety requirements are followed at all times.
- To undertake any other reasonable request from the Factory Supervisor.
Requirements:
- Be available from 16:30pm until 01:00 – a typical production day can range from 8-10 hours depending on production.
- Be able to work from Monday – Friday. Occasional Saturday if requested and desired.
- Previous experience within a food factory environment is preferred.
- Reliability and Punctuality is a must.
- Good communication skills and basic maths is required.
- Good tidy practice and organisation skills are required.
- The applicant must be enthusiastic, flexible and hard-working to work effectively alongside our friendly team.
- Have a positive “Can Do” attitude to everyday operations and continual improvement initiatives.
